Consultation fee inclusions

Your consultation fee covers more than just the time spent during your telehealth session. The tabs below explain what’s included in your fee, from preparation and consultation time to GP and summary letters. Each component is designed to ensure your care is safe, thorough, and well-documented, while keeping your billing transparent and fair.
Preparation time

Preparation for your appointment may include:

-
Reviewing your appointment planning form
-
Reviewing your prescribing and dispensing history in prescription monitoring systems (e.g. ScriptCheck WA)
-
Reading correspondence received from your GP and other healthcare providers
-
Reviewing emails, messages or updates received from you between sessions:
-
If these updates are short in length and take under 5 minutes to review, they are included in preparation time at no added cost.
-
Longer or more detailed updates are reviewed during your consultation (billable time).
-
Late cancellation & non-attendance
fees
Why this matters
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you, and clinical and administrative preparations begin the week before your session. The late-cancellation and non-attendance fees compensate for this professional time and acknowledge that others were unable to access care.

The fees are outlined below. This policy supports fair access, respect for time, and continuity of care for all patients.
Late Cancellation & Non-Attendance Fees

Fees
The following fees apply to all consultations based on the amount of notice provided for cancellations:

Cancellation with more than 7 days' notice: No charge; the deposit is fully refunded.
-
Cancellation with more than 48 hours but less than 7 days' notice: The deposit is forfeited.
-
Cancellation with less than 48 hours' notice or non-attendance: a charge equivalent to 50% of the booked appointment fee will apply. The deposit will be credited toward this fee, and the outstanding balance will be charged to your card on file.

Fee calculation
How fees are determined
All appointments are billed privately. Fees reflect not only the time spent in session but also the professional expertise, preparation, and ongoing development required to deliver high-quality, thoughtful care.

As a self-employed psychiatrist, I personally fund all practice expenses, including administrative support, clinical systems, insurance, professional registration, and unpaid time spent on enquiries, preparation and documentation outside appointments.

Private psychiatrists do not receive paid leave, superannuation, or government funding. Maintaining fair and sustainable fees allows me to continue providing spacious, attentive care over the long term.

Fee updates
Fees are periodically reviewed to ensure alignment with professional standards and the costs of providing high-quality care. Updates are posted on my website and will apply to future appointments from the date of publication.
